CellTeint: the unicorn of tinted moisturizers

I’ll be honest with you, I’ve never met a tinted moisturizer I like. They’re either all moisture and no tint, or they provide some strange form of streaky coverage that never quite sits right on my skin. I always have the distinct feeling while I’m applying tinted moisturizers (or any foundation for that matter) that I’m just reversing the skincare efforts I work so hard to maintain. But a girl needs coverage, plain and simple.

Is there no hope for the makeup-wearing, skin-conscious women of the world??

Fear not, because I’ve found the solution: CellTeint by Cellcosmet. Thank the powers that be for Swiss research, because they’ve produced the happiest medium I didn’t think was possible.

I used shade 01 Opal #palegirlproblems

CellTeint is awesome because it’s more than your wannabe tinted moisturizers. It’s ultra hydrating while it actively revitalizes the skin with bio-integral cells that fire all day long. That’s Swiss skincare jargon for anti-aging to the max – it actually plumps and firms the skin. How amazing is that?

Much to my surprise, this tinted moisturizer applies beautifully and evenly, and it self-adjusts to your specific skin tone. CellTeint is strong enough to provide buildable coverage for those areas that need a little extra help (we’ve all got em). And it leaves the skin with a healthy, hydrated glow — so much so that Danuta complimented my skin. That’s like Anna Wintour telling you “Cute shoes”. When she says it, you know it’s real.

What’s even better is that it feels fantastic when you apply. CellTeint left my skin tingling for about an hour after I applied it, almost like P50 does. Not in an uncomfortable way, just a nice little reminder that my skin was alive, awake and working – and for me to feel any of those things before 8am is nothing short of a small miracle. That’s the bio-cells working for ya.

It stayed on evenly all day long and never settled into my pores or fine lines, unlike most foundations I’ve ever tried. And I didn’t feel like I was clogging up my skin with makeup because CellTeint has active minerals that nourish and hydrate the skin, while making it look flawless.

Can you tell I’m a fan?

One caveat I will say is that Cellcosmet is a line generally geared towards more mature skin than mine. As a 23 year old saying this, that’s a huge margin, so don’t let that make you feel bad. CellTeint is keratinizing, which is great for skin that could use more plumping and firming. Unfortunately for me, the formula was a little too rich for me to use this product every day, but it is perfect for skin a bit more mature than mine so don’t let that dissuade you! I would bathe in this stuff every day if I could.

So come on in and see what all the hype is about, or just visit our online store at shoprescuespa.com, conveniently open 24hrs a day at your fingertips 🙂

Save your back and feet at Rescue Spa

Philadelphia is a city bursting with art, food and color. The second largest city on the East Coast and the fifth most populous city in the country, the birthplace of America is also one of the most walkable cities in the United States. Between the Old City to Center City, there are tons of art galleries and museums to check out, plenty of shopping, and gorgeous buildings best viewed out in the clear. What that means, however, is that visitors might feel a little sore after a day of pounding the pavement. Which is a perfect excuse to check out one of Philly’s many raved about day spas! From simple pedis to Swedish massages, facials to make-overs for a special date night, or just a detoxifying and thoroughly relaxing massage for travel-worn and airplane-cramped traveler, there are tons of spas to choose from, particularly in Center City and the Old City.

Save your back and feet at Rescue Spa

Amidst the trendy art galleries and retail shopping of Chestnut and Walnut streets is an airy and lofty urban oasis wherein highly qualified aestheticians dole out what regular Philadelphian spa-goers hail as the best facials in the city. The founder and star facialist, Danuta Mieloch, has a pristine resume that spans over 20 years in her native Poland, Paris, and then New York. A “classic rescue facial” session with her and her hand-picked expert staff begins with an in-depth skin analysis and then a totally customized skin treatment using their natural “manual lift” facial massage technique. Beyond the classic, they offer bio-lift facials, microdermabrasion, a “high performance” facial which integrates all of their treatments, back facials, oxygenating facials, and all the other spa offerings like massages, body treatments, hair removal, makeup and laser. A vast number of their clientele are the types who get Rescued regularly, but any trip to Rescue Spa is sure to be a real treat!

RESCUE’s New Year Trends

Healthy looking skin is at the top of every woman’s wishlist.  The best way to achieve this is to develop a good skincare routine, it has to be consistent (the biggest problem for most people). If you haven’t already tried our cult all-in-one beauty fix P50 1970 this is the time to do so!  At RESCUE we believe in products that work to keep your skin moist, hydrated, and youthful. We offer a full range of active formulas such as: AVSTRETINOLIntensive Antioxidant GelVitamin C, as well as Hyaluronic AcidPeptidesOxygenationAmino Acids, etc.  All of these potent formulas are great collagen boosters that also provide cellular repair.  A winter standout product is still Regenera II. I always say it is the richest cream on earth! Provides instant hydration and prevents moisture loss.

Maintain beautiful skin by scheduling our Signature Facial or a non-invasive laser treatment: BioliftLEDEnergy LiftRefirme, and IPL (ask for a spot treatment for those problem areas).

Nails As a Fashion Accessory. For a quick fashion update try one of our nail designs as well as Vinylux 1-week nail polish, a healthy alternative to gel nails.

Hair care is big this year.  Did you know that your hair ages as well?  We added Rene Furterer and Phyto Hair Care since our clientele knows to take care of their scalp & hair as well as their skin.

Makeup as skincare. Chantecaille and By Terry are of the very few makeup companies that approach cosmetics as skincare.  At RESCUE we like to hear “your skin looks great” rather than “your makeup looks great”.  We offer BB & CC creams and tinted moisturizers & foundations that won’t reak havoc on your skin. Schedule a makeup master class with one of our makeup artists to learn how to perfect your look.

Beauty Must-haves for 2014

  • Complexe 5 the foundation for all hair types. Did you know that the scalp has build up (eww!)? Detoxing your scalp is essential for a healthy scalp and beautiful hair.
  • Make frizz nonexistent with Phytodefrisant. Sans silicone & parabens. Enriched with a botanical plant base.
  • Regenera II, as I always say it is the richest cream on earth!
  • Foot Logix a healing foam for cracked heels and calluses.
  • Gin Fizz eau de parfum by Lubin Paris was favored by Grace Kelly. A touch of history with a lasting scent.
  • Le Grand Serum. As close to the fountain of youth as a serum can get!  Follow with Creme MSRH. Voila! Skincare couture.

RESCUE’s simple and easy approach to beauty:

  1. Hydrate. Drink water often it’s amazing what it does for your skin and your entire body, keeping it moist and supple.
  2. Breathe. Oxygen is crucial for your well-being.  Conscious deep breathing just for a few minutes relieves stress, rejuvenates your skin, re-energizes your body.
  3. Exercise. Find activity that suits you and your lifestyle. Try yoga, pilates, strength training, go for a walk, run, or bike. The benefits are amazing. Releases “feel good” hormones, increases blood flow, and reduces stress.
  4. 4. Eat sensibly. Focus on fresh complex foods containing proteins, vitamins, vital nutrients, healthy fats (avocado, olive oil) these are the building blocks of skin tissue.
  5. Get enough sleep. When well rested everything is better: mood, skin, energy.
  6. Have a hobby & passion. Doing things we love slows down the aging process.
  7. Beware of sun damage. Staying out of the sun is the most valuable beauty lesson.  Always protect yourself with sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, find shade, use skincare containing active ingredients and antioxidants for extra protection.
  8. RESCUE’s anti-aging mantra. “Everything in moderation”. From how much you eat. How often you exercise. How many laser treatments, facials, injectables, plastic surgery, etc. that you receive. Simplify.
  9. Smile often! Self confidence and self esteem are at the top of the beauty list.
  10. Give & share.

Parisienne Facial

Valid March 1st -May 31st 2013

If you can’t drop everything and jet set to Paris for a facial treatment at Ambasade De La Beaute Biologique Recherche, look no further than Rescue Rittenhouse Spa for an equally luxurious facial.

The same techniques used by the estheticians in Paris are used right here in Philadelphia with the famous Biologique Recherche Remodeling Machine and Lift CVS treatment. Electric currents and manual exfoliation instantly lift that veil of winter dullness.  Erase years from your face and reveals beautiful, youthful glowing skin!  ($200)

Jetlag in Paris…

Paris is a place that I always end up going back to.  I’m constantly looking for new products, treatments, and inspiration. I stroll the streets, check out shops, and observe the way French women dress and take care of themselves.  They seem to possess that attitude and confidence, je ne sais quois.  Including they look for items that say utilitarianism, longevity, and quality. They never buy a whole new look. Instead they wear the pieces they love and continue to build classics.  A similar approach they apply to skincare.  One of my favorite shops is Bon Marche, one of the oldest stores in Paris.  In my opinion they carry the best selection of skincare products.  It’s very easy to browse around, extremely accessible, and the staff is very knowledgeable and quick to give wonderful advice.  I was sweetly surprised to see some Rescue favorites; Valmont, Institut Esthederm, and Chantecaille among the wonderful selection.  All of a sudden it felt like home for me! It’s great when you find familiar feelings far from home.

Home away from home for me is always a necessary visit to Ambasade De La Beaute Biologique Recherche. On the day I arrived I had an appointment for their famed remodeling facial. I couldn’t think of a better way to get rid of jet lag and look instantly refreshed. My treatment was amazing.  It started with a cleansing, then a consultation… the French are very interested in your lifestyle (they’re advocates of a stress free life) and my esthetician was not shy to tell me to stop stressing, almost as if it were a prescription. I had the Lift CVS treatment followed by electric current remodeling machine. My face felt lifted, stress melted away, it was just what I needed. At the end my esthetician suggested a skincare regime for me and it was very refreshing because it’s not often someone does this for me.  I only see my skin in the mirror, which is not tactile.  So I really took her advice to heart because she was able to read my skin in a different context than I’m able to myself. After the facial I had a blow dry.  When my hair stylist asked me how I wanted it I left it up to her.  She gave me this magnificent style that felt perfectly Parisienne. I forgot all about the jet lag, went out for a fantastic dinner and stayed out late.  So once again the proof is there. If your skin looks good and your hair looks good you can wear a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and still feel glamorous! So I resolve for 2013, to continue to get facials and blowouts instead of going out and buying a brand new outfit. Packing for Paris will be much easier, I’ll just make sure to book a facial and a blowout before hitting the boutiques. Tres chic!

Happy Holidays from Danuta!

With the holidays right around the corner I’d like to share some of my quick tips on how to look fresh, stay healthy, and glowy!

  1. Good grooming goes a long way.  Make sure this time of the year to squeeze in your eyebrow shaping, manicure, and bikini wax for a quick pick me up! Everything else seems so much easier when you have the basics down. A beautiful nail color can be your best accessory, eyebrows frame your face, and a bikini wax leaves you ready for anything (beach, bed, whatever)!
  2. We all want radiant glowing skin which is easily attainable with a consistent skincare regime.  Make sure you don’t cut corners this time of the year and continue to cleanse well, especially at night after you’ve had a few cocktails and would rather go straight to bed.  A mild acid peel is an instant brightener!  An at home alpha beta peel from Dr. Dennis Gross or P50 “1970” will do the trick. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize… this is the time of the year to go for it. Serums, Masks, Creams.  My go to products right now are Fluide VIP O2 and Elixir Glacier Face Cream, I love using them together for an incredible radiance.
  3. It’s the best season to have fun with makeup!  When else in the year can you use sparkle all over and get away with it?  Going from day to night I’ll play up either lips or eyes.  Deeper plums and emerald green for the eyes can be festive without going overboard.  You can’t go wrong with a classic red lip and a little black dress.
  4. Finding a balance with your lifestyle during the holidays can be a pain.  So if I OD on champagne I’ll have a nice green juice for breakfast and drink plenty of water the following morning, it makes me 50% good.  I usually aim for 75% good with my diet, December is quite unique and I’m happy with 50/50.
  5. It’s better to give than to receive! Gift Giving is the easiest thing for me. I offer all my friends Rescue Gift Certificates, relaxation is something I know they’ll appreciate.
  6. Holiday ambiance is important to me.  I keep a holiday candle on my coffee table with the beautiful seasonal floral arrangements my sister-in-law makes.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
