The day I found out I was pregnant I made it my latest hobby.  Like most new moms to
be I started my research.  I looked into what foods to eat, the best exercises and yoga, coffee or no coffee; anything and everything to keep me and the baby healthy, safe, and happy. It can be rather overwhelming.  When it came to skin care I realized I had to be mindful of what I was using, as whatever you put on your skin will be absorbed into your body and blood stream, and will find its way into your developing baby.

Your body is surging with hormones, which is producing a variety of changes.  You
may see changes in your skin like you’ve never experienced. Therefor, your skin care
regimen will have to change to help your skin look and feel better. I highly recommend a nice cream cleanser by Biologique Recherche – Lait U. It will thoroughly cleanse your skin without stripping you of your natural oils. After cleansing, use the Cellcosmet Activator Gel, followed by the Cellcosmet Active Tonic Lotion. The combination of these two products will brighten and help balance the pH in your skin. Finishing off your regimen with Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre, a combination of natural active ingredients which is also paraben free. If you’re focusing on breakouts and oily combination skin, I recommend the original P-50, which is advised for women who are pregnant or nursing as it does not contain phenol.  Follow this with Dermopurifiante from Biologique Recherche.
Last but not least, let’s not forget about your body. As your baby grows, so will your
baby bump. Your skin will become tight and itchy. What will help get you through those long, dry nights? A nice exfoliating scrub. I really enjoyed the purifying Himalayan salt scrub by Rituals. After you thoroughly dry off, Rituals also make a wonderful body cream that is very hydrating and nourishing.
What is most important is to keep it simple and try to stay calm and relaxed. Remember that if it’s a happy mommy, it’s a happy baby.
