A Celebrity Dermatologist’s Science-Based Skin-Care Routine

On using P50 in the mornings: My bathroom looks like Sephora. I love to test new products and am lucky enough to be sent a lot of them. I use a micellar water in the morning. I am a fan of Biologique Recherche P50 lotion. I know a lot of people don’t like it because of phenol. But if you read the studies, it’s not dangerous, plus you can get a version without it anyway. It makes my skin texture look prettier, and it diminishes the appearance of pores.

On sheet masking to slow down: I also love the little eye patches that makes my eyes look brighter. I do have the Valmont ones...  and Valmont eye creams. I found out about Valmont from Rescue Spa — it’s my heaven.

Boho Beauty Lessons We have Learned from Nicole Richie

Stick to your regimen. Richie rarely strays from her regimen of Biologique Recherche products — unless it’s to incorporate a homemade face scrub. InStyle revealed that the luxe French brand’s sunscreen, Biologique Recherche Protection U.V. ($132), is also the sun-lover’s go-to SPF.

Moisturizer is the key. Even when she breaks out — yup, it really does happen — the unconventional lady moisturizes pimples instead of drying them out. Style Caster shares that she spot-treats blemishes with hydrating toner, Biologique Recherche Lotion P50V ($65), which cues her body to stop overproducing oil.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Talk Skincare

The twins’ love of light makeup means they must stay on top of their skincare routine, so we had to ask, what products do they use? “Ashley’s [routine] is much better than mine, so I’ll let her go through it first,” Mary-Kate says.

“I just use Biologique products,” Ashley told us. “I’m a die-hard fan. It’s really helped my skin.” And Mary-Kate? “I try really hard…actually, I don’t try hard,” she says with a chuckle. “I need to start a better routine for myself. I use Biologique, too, but not as often as I should.”
