What Our Lead Estheticians Recommend For The Fall

What our Lead Estheticians Recommend for the fall

Fall is a tricky time when it comes to skincare, the weather is still fluctuating which can lead to our skin becoming unbalanced. Don’t worry, we are here to make it easier for you and give you our lead estheticians’ skincare fall recommendations when it comes to everything toning, masking and massaging!

Q: How many times a week should I be masking?

Diana Yerkes Rescue Spa Lead Esthetician New York City
Diana Yerkes, Lead & Trainer Esthetician

Diana: Over at Rescue Spa, we love to do our mask challenges! Typically this means doing a mask everyday for 7 days straight. One of the benefits of doing a mask challenge besides the rebalancing and much needed purification post-seasonal challenges, is the consistency that it creates in one’s regimen. Masque Vivant makes for a great balancing and purification option and is safe to use for 7 days in a row! If you lean towards being more dry, mixing Masque Visolastine in with Masque Vivant will boost hydration and strengthen the skin barrier.

Q: Why should I be doubling up on my toners?

Cheryl Ticktin, Lead Esthetician

Cheryl: The fall weather is so unpredictable, making our skin unpredictable as a result. Listening to your skin is the most important thing you can do when choosing the right products to use. Alternating your toners for your specific concerns will make all the difference! As it gets colder and dryer, our skin tends to also become dry and even irritated. The D22 Tonic is a great option in this case, since it provides gentle exfoliation to firm and brighten, reduce inflammation and soothe sensitive skin. For the nights you are looking for more intensive exfoliation, The Lotion P50 Original 1970 will balance sebum production and balance the skin’s pH. As a nice alternative to the Lotion P50 Original 1970, the Hyalogy Platinum Essence will boost your skin’s protection due its antioxidant rich platinum powder formula.

Q: What are the benefits of facial massage? Can I do this at home?

Magdalena Wilkowski, Lead Esthetician

Magda: We live in a busy world. Days are long and stressful for many of us and we don’t necessarily know what to do to help our body and skin to feel better. The easiest way to get a quick fix is obviously to get a facial, professionals use lifting techniques to relieve stressed muscles. If you can’t make it in for a facial, there are facial massage techniques that you can do at home!

A daily massage with the right skin care products can do magic. Massaging your skin for 5 to 10 minutes a day for a week straight will help you look and feel better. Daily facial massage tones muscles and relieves tension caused by daily stress, prevents the formation of wrinkles and relieves sinus pressure. Amongst these main benefits, massage reduces toxins which is very important especially when you are swollen or puffy.

Just take a few minutes a day to boost circulation and deliver oxygen to the skin, which results in brighter and glowing! Remember don’t be too aggressive, use gentle but a firm touch.
