From 2010-2013, Antarctica shed 480 billion metric tons of ice. Vital to keeping the planet cool as it reflects the sun’s heat, glacial ice is melting at an alarming rate, speeding up the warming of our planet. With this, comes the threat of submerged coasts, increased storms, droughts and floods, causing the displacement of entire populations. This accelerated “melt” is an alarming sign of global warming – a reality that will continue to dramatically affect our planet’s weather patterns, food resources, ecosystems and geography. - Always use reusable bags when shopping
- Don’t use plastic straws, single use plastics or Styrofoam
- Opt for wind or solar power to heat and cool your home
